APRA is an Alberta not-for-profit industry association, dedicated to sustainable plastics recycling and to minimizing plastic waste to landfill.

APRA facilitates the development of sustainable programs to effectively manage plastics waste and acts as a resource to individuals, groups and companies. APRA also provides technical information on plastics waste management and recycling.

APRA is affiliated with EPIC, the Environment and Plastics Industry Council, a council of CPIA, the Canadian Plastics Industry Association.

APRA's office is open Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Janet Altmiks is the association Administrative Assistant and Grant Cameron is the Executive Director of the association.

Amity Plastics is an established plastics recycler, located in Clyde Alberta. Amity is a supplier to the recycling community of recycling equipment including; balers, compactors, shredders and granulators.   Amity collects #2 HDPE milk jugs and natural and oil jugs.

Amity accepts only ground material. Amity Plastics manufacture guardrail posts and parking curbs from 100% recycled plastic.

Types of plastic accepted by AWAX for recycling are #2 HDPE natural, #2 HDPE colored, #1 PET and #4 LDPE. AWAX will collect and recycle milk jugs from Alberta locations. AWAX does baling, grinding and brokering. AWAX also sells various types of recycling equipment such as grinders to densify plastic containers.

Accept #2 HDPE (hard plastic containers), #3 PVC (piping), #4 LDPE (film) and #7 PC (acrylics, lexans).  Will provide 20 ft. containers, large containers for commercial plazas are available.  Unbaled plastic is acceptable.  Indoor and outdoor bins are available.  Plastic must be clean and uncontaminated.  Price is negotiable depending on type and volume.

Merlin has plants in Calgary, Alberta and Delta, B.C.  Merlin provides services such as sorting and baling, grinding, decontaminating, washing, palletizing, blending and packaging.

Merlin processes:  PE film scrap – printed and non-printed; industrial injection molded plastic pails; post-consumer blow molding, high density polyethylene; as well as PET (soft drink containers) and some industrial scrap from commodity resin to engineering grade.  Merlin has the production capability of 80 million pounds a year, and is continually investigating new production processes and opportunities.

Precision Plastics purchases all types of surplus and scrap plastics, including but not limited to; HDPE bottles – natural milk, water and juice bottles, colored HDPE bottles, injection molded HDPE buckets and tubs, crates, plastic pallets, barrels, pipe,  strapping, bulk bags and film.
